Following the need in Khorasan Province and necessity of a scientific institute in the field of precious & semi precious stones, Gemological Institute of Asia East was established by the efforts of specialists, especially Mr. Pishbeen and authorization was awarded by Technical & Professional Organization in Mashhad in 1383 and started training for the identification of precious & semi precious stones formally.
In the mean time, supporting of research and scientific institutes, trade and scientific assemblies, especially jewellery, gold and silver trade unions have had the most importance.
Authorizations:
The only institute having the research authorization in the field of precious & semi precious stones in Iran and executing different research projects in this field
the authorization of Technical & Professional training in the fields of:
- Identification of precious & semi precious stones (Gemology) for men & women
- Cutting of precious & semi precious stones (Gem cutting) for men & women
- Creation job
Actions:
- Gemology training for the first time in the east of Iran and as the second institute in Iran according to international standards
- Jewellery design training (classic and by computer)
- Precious & semi precious cut training according to international standards and for the first time in the country
- Apart from this, signing of agreement with Standard & Industrial Research Institute of Iran , as the committee secretary of compiling standards for jewellery in Iran in the direction of compiling national standards for jewellery. It is obvious that the last action can be a very important step to improve this industry
- Issuing the certificate for jewellery for the first time and classification of gemstones as per the international standards.
- The only institute having the authorization of jewellery designing in the country from Cultural Inheritance Handicrafts & Tourism Organization
- Training of stones cutting in the training workshop of Mashhad prison
- Equipping the gemology and stone-cutting unit in Technical & Professional Organization of Southern Khorasan which was inaugurated in 1386
- Equipping, starting and training in art school of cutting precious stones in Neyshabour for the first time in country.
- Cooperation to Applied & Scientific University of Mines & Industries of Mashhad in starting the precious & semi precious stones cutting course of 2 years
As mentioned above, the institute was a first in all the training courses and research activities; in fact it has always tried as a founder of gemology science and related sciences in Khorasan to set innovation in jewellery at the top of its aims.
